Our mission is to provide high-quality , innovative language programs with an aim to raise the standard of language training in Canada. We achieve this with a student-centred approach to learning and with teachers who are well-trained, experienced and motivated. IH Vancouver offers small class sizes, an international atmosphere, and a flexible & modern curriculum, all at very competivitive rates.
Since 1990, International House (formerly ILLC) has offered ESL classes in a friendly, personal and internationally diverse atmosphere. In the past year, we have had students from over 30 different countries attend our school. IH Vancouver has 8 different levels of study, ensuring our students from Beginner to Advanced English ability are placed in appropriate classes. We provide our students with a wide variety of General English, Test Preparation (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, Cambridge FCE,CAE,CPE,BEC), University Foundation and Elective courses to choose from. IH Vancouver also offers official TOEFL, TOEIC and Cambridge ESOL testing on-site. IH Vancouver also offers Work Experience and Teacher Training Programs to qualified candidates.
If students require accommodation, we offer homestay placement with Canadian families and include 3 meals per day. In additon to homestay, we also offer 3 self-catering student residences. The student residences are located 20 minutes from the school by public transportation. Both private and shared rooms are available.
